What do I need to do in order convert my license?
Converting a foreign license to an Israeli license is possible during the first 3 years, but in practice you are allowed to drive for 12 months only on your old license.
In order to convert your license you need to go Markovitz Optics at the "Malcha" Mall, and they will produce a form with all your details and picture on it (this form doesn't cost any money).
•
Optometric test - At The back of this form you need to do an optometric test. Most optometrists will charge 40 NIS for the eye test. |
•
Medical test – you need to take a medical test with your personal doctor. He/she needs to sign at the back of your form. |
| |
After you have all the documentation, you need to go to the Ministry of Vehicle Licensing (Hatnufa st. Talpiot or at the Clal building, the city center) with Teudat Zehut, Teudat Ole and your foreign drivers license. They will approve that you can convert your license, and then you can take driving lessons. In order to complete the procedure you are required to take at least one lesson before taking the driving test.
